Find What is Missing

Increase HappinessDo you feel there is something missing in your life but don’t quiet know what it is?

If you feel that there is something missing in your life, there is.  Most often, it is not a circumstance, object or thing but a deep seated longing of our own selves for fulfillment.

.
Do you wonder how you can more fully be happy or at peace?  Do you feel anxious or out of sorts in this phase or earlier periods of your life?  The ready availability of joy, peace and all beautiful human qualities are fundamental desires.   These are part of the ever flowing abundance that is available to all.

When we sincerely ask ourselves, “How do we navigate the way to happiness, peace and fulfilment?” we will be guided.

One of the time tested and reliable ways of taking a sincere step toward answers, is to be led toward that goal in a guided meditation retreat.

Happiness often asks us to pay a price in advance.  That price is your time and effort in taking a step towards what you desire.

Why participate in an inner renewal event? Why Meditate or do inner
practices?

Meditation and inner practice overcomes the feeling of there being something missing in life. It leads to clearness, and over time, a sense of inner satisfaction, wholeness, and a sense of completeness; the feeling of being internally well fed and nourished.

Most often we just don’t know exactly what needs to be tuned and nourished.   Taking a step into the unknown takes courage.

There are time tested steps one can take to not only shift oneself forward but to actually jump forward.  These are some of the steps and methods shared in  Be Happier Now: A Practical Day of Guided Meditation and Spiritual Practice that is available to you here either free of charge or via donation as you wish.

Tapping into Inspiration & Courage

Inspiration and courage are always flowing.  Simply noticing these qualities in the lives of those around us will help trigger these same qualities in ourselves.

When we recognize and feel in our being the qualities in those whom we see the qualities exhibiting themselves, it allows the admired qualities to flow through in our own lives.

Beginners Mind Meditation Technique

A Delightful Meditation Technique

Keeping an open and fresh mind, sometimes described as beginners mind, when practicing meditation and life, is most helpful, for seeing what will arise, from any particular meditation technique.

Beginners Mind Meditation Technique

Freshness of the Beginners Mind

When we practice a meditation technique and have a good experience, whether that is peace, joy or simply a relaxed state, the mind, when doing the practice again, has a tendency to think that that was indeed the limit of the practice and one may be tempted to look for a repeat of the past good experience.

Maintaining a fresh mind, each and every time one does a practice, is fundamental, to allowing the new.  Each moment in life is different and each of those moments allows the opportunity of moving beyond what we could have ever imagined.

Simply not having expectations about a particular meditation technique, allows one to stay open.  Staying open to the experience of the practice is fundamental.   That openness, allows, what we could not have ever imagined, to come into play in our meditation and our lives.

If we approach our sitting or walking meditation time with this new feeling, we are helping ourselves, be, in the present moment.  We are activating ourselves in the now.   Being present in the now is one of the best open eyed meditation techniques.

Beginners mind is often referred to as being most desirable on the path when approaching life and meditation.  This openess of mind, is one well worth noting in oneself and finding, and knowing when one is moving in its sphere.   At every stage of the path, its importance, to those who practice it, becomes clear.

There is a fresh feeling for many when they are approaching this state.  Perhaps this is because one is not carrying the conditioning of the past or having possible unconscious circumstances of the future, reflect back into the present to give us fear and other non productive feelings.

Meditation happens in the present, so any thing that helps move one into the present, proves to be a benefit in the long run.   This one is often reminded of the playful nature of the Divine qualities and how tuning into those will help move one into the beginners mind and pop one into the present moment.   Sometimes accidents and other things we want to avoid move us into the present.  It is better to just allow one self the opportunity of being in a present mindful state.   Being present to the moment is one of the best meditation techniques.  It is described by many in different ways.  What ever method or description you wish to use, please do use and practice it.

Self Confidence Meditation

My Message to You: Have Faith in Yourself

In Either Case: Have Faith in Yourself

If things are going right in your life, dare to dream bigger dreams.

If you are experiencing challenges, then know by calling on the life force energy within your self, as a function of the Divine, there will be an improvement in your self confidence.

Challenges and lack of self confidence are often are a call for more light in your life, healing, a move toward inner and outer balance, letting go or affirmation.

Likely you know or have an intuition of what the next smallest step that would benefit you most would be. The range can be from a specific action to sitting in meditation or doing a healing practice you are already familiar with.

Self Disciple is Not a Dirty Word

Improvement comes from self discipline which, by the way, is not a dirty word. Self discipline is one of the secrets of the Yogis and all healers and my own experience is the same.

Observe people from any walk of life; science, business, the arts and notice how they have either knowingly or unknowing, developed self disciple to support them selves. Creating the life they have envisioned for themselves, often bringing great joy to their lives if they originally envisioned their lives with their own higher ideals.

When we have an inclination of a better feeling state that involves an action, we must do the action. Our guidance is helping us always and when we build our self discipline through many small and almost inconsequential actions we build strength of reserve for bigger actions. Watch each small thing in your life. That is the road.

If You are Not Struggling (and even if you are)

If things are going well, then benefit comes from work in the imaginal realms to envision more love, harmony or beauty in the world. Here is a short meditation.

For a few minutes, let your breath expand the feeling state in your heart:

-encompass more and more space in the heart chakras

- feel the transformational qualities of the space you are creating

-let your self be moved to a bigger vision then you currently have

-note what arises.

-Make a record of what arises.

Often when we first do these practices the bigger vision is in the process of making itself clear. A record or notes will allow you to see patterns and directions from your meditations over time.

Self disciple comes into play to maintain the vision and move it forward.

When shooting the film, Personal Time with Swami-ji, this one was impressed with Swami Sundaranand’s self discipline; he said it was one of the less understood secrets of life. He noted that ever one wants it but few have it. His life embodies both stages of self discipline and one can see the beautiful and joyful look on that face.

Many have benefited a great deal by studying Swami-ji’s life, thoughts, practices. I have been doing my best to put them into action. I hope you will also be able to benefit by his life and work. Though I haven’t been able to visit Swami-ji personally in the Himalayas as I would like, each time I watch Personal Time With Swami-ji it seems new and fresh as my understanding and insight into his life and work have both grown and gone deeper.

That is the benefit of sitting with a real Yoga Master, you get what ever is needed at your own particular confidence level and as that grows you get more and more from the same teachings.

Shanti Om and Peace to You

Blessings
